Movie Colony | Palm Springs

The Movie Colony is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Palm Springs and is across Palm Canyon and Indian Canyon Drives from Old Las Palmas. Most are surrounded by low stone walls and tall ficus hedges. Some sit on very large lots with mature palms and leafy trees and beautiful landscaped grounds with pools and tennis courts. These were once the homes of Hollywood royalty who would travel out to Palm Springs to get away from it all.

Just like celebrities today, these people moved around a lot in town, but as you look for homes in this neighborhood, you’ll likely find references to Cary Grant, Bob Hope, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, and many others.

Most of the older properties have been updated by now, but if you find one that needs work, it will be worth it. The location, like Old Las Palmas, is unmatched in Palm Springs. Close to downtown and the Uptown Design District and yet very private and exclusive.

Plus, the expansive Ruth Hardy Park is just to the east, a wonderful place for a stroll, a tennis game, or to walk your dog and meet all your neighbors.

These homes are located on fee land that is owned.
