Where to Celebrate the 4th of July in Palm Springs

4th of july in palm springs

Fourth of July is right around the corner, and the people of Palm Springs are preparing. After missing out on the 2020 celebration due to the pandemic, and a somewhat mixed presentation back in 2021, we are finally back to making the big Independence Day celebrations we all love. Whether a resident or tourist, there is much to enjoy when celebrating the 4th of July in Palm Springs.

Events Happening around the 4th of July in Palm Springs

Movie Screenings and Performances

Days leading up to our annual celebration of independence, Palm Springs will have several movie screenings and shows across multiple venues in the area. On July 2, a drone show will occur at Downtown Park, Museum Way at Belardo Road, immediately followed by a concert featuring “Petty and the Heartbreakers,” a Tom Petty cover band. Movie screenings of “Jungle Cruise” and “The Goonies” will be held at Palm Springs Swim Center on July 1 and Ruth Hardy Park on July 3, respectively.

Power Baseball Game

Before the fireworks display starts at Palm Desert, audiences at the Palm Spring Stadium will witness a POWER baseball game at 6 PM. The gates will open one hour before the first pitch, except for July 4, which is opened 90 minutes before the first pitch. This all-star game is a summer tradition for the area that visitors and residents anticipate. You’ll get to meet and watch players from a close-up perspective. This team has had a 90% victory over all their home games for the past 18 years.

Fireworks at Palm Spring Stadium

A 4th of July celebration isn’t complete without a spectacular fireworks show. The event officially kicks off at 7:30 PM with the singing of the national anthem by the park’s amphitheater. A musical performance by the Swing Cats Big Band and the Swing Kittens will follow. And finally, as the clock strikes 9 PM, the sky will blaze in a spectacular 20-minute fireworks display. You can enjoy the show within the venue or in the comfort of the outdoors with your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic dinner.

The preparations for the annual 4th of July celebration are in place. The festivities are definitely worth your time if you are in the area. We hope to see you here so we can celebrate the holiday together.
